About Your World of Art
More than just a guide
With my currently limited logistics capacity to plan or execute a gift let alone a surprise, I absolutely could not let it stop me from sharing with you some sort of surprise still.
Your World of Art is a live cultural map built around a simple idea: a place can be better and more easily understood when we meet some of its stories before we meet its streets. In the certainty that you’ll still see so much of this world, I wanted to share with you great recommendations for what’s out there, what can be seen through the eyes and what can be understood just through ideas. And when you eventually reach these places, even if you might not see the locations, you will feel these stories in your own skin.
I also wanted for you to keep a piece of the world in your pocket, and a little memory of me, wherever you go.
Why Books and Films?
A novel can take you inwards, into memory, language, private life and emotions. A film can give shape to landscape, movement, sound and public space. Together they can reveal different sides of a country without pretending to explain all of it. And keep in mind that no single book or film can represent a country in its entirety, and that is not the goal of course. But all in all, it gives you context into the country, and a piece of reflection into your own self.
A live atlas
The map grows in weekly releases (inshallah!). New batches of countries come every week. Over time, an existing country may also gain a new book, a new film or another cultural layer worth discovering cuz, as you know, there are only so many countries in the world.
